Explore British Columbia series- Garibaldi Lake, located in the Whistler region, is less than two hours away from Vancouver and features spectacular scenery and a variety of outdoor recreational activities to enjoy during a visit. Due to weather conditions, it is seasonally open between July and October and can be reached by an 18km (roundtrip) hike.
The trail leading to Lake Garibaldi is intermediate and has an elevation gain of 820 meters – though there are a number of trails for all fitness levels – ranging from easy to more difficult. The landscape surrounding the lake is breathtaking and provides views of the Black Tusk and Panorama Ridge. For those who prefer to drive as close as possible to the lake, there are roads and signs to follow to reach the provided parking lot.
For those who love camping, staying overnight at Lake Garibaldi is a must – a campsite is located at the lake, which also provides access to the numerous hiking trails.
